Our Story
How it all started...
Iglesia Faro de Luz began with a deep sense of calling and unwavering faith. In 1999, Reverend Jose N. Flores, along with his wife Maria E. Flores received a powerful confirmation from the Holy Spirit to start a new ministry.
They moved from Virginia to Charlotte, NC, and began with only five members meeting in a small hotel room. Despite the humble beginnings, they trusted God’s guidance and stepped out in faith. Through His grace and provision, the church grew and flourished.
Today, Iglesia Faro de Luz is a thriving community, expanding its reach to touch more lives with the message of love, hope, and faith.

At Iglesia Faro de Luz, we are excited about the future. Our church is growing and thriving, and we are looking ahead with faith and anticipation. We are dedicated to reaching more people, impacting our community, and making a difference in the lives of those around us.
We are committed to creating a space where people can come together, connect, and grow. Through our community events and ministries, we aim to serve the needs of others and share the love of Christ in practical ways.
As part of our vision for the future, we are expanding our church. We are building a new auditorium that will allow us to reach even more people and provide a place for future generations to worship and learn. This expansion is a step forward in our mission to build a strong, welcoming community where people can experience God’s love and grace.
About Jose Flores
Reverend Jose N. Flores is originally from El Salvador. He gave his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1993 in Brooklyn, NY. After his conversion, he moved to Virginia and served as the assistant pastor at a local church for six years.
In 1999, after receiving three callings to the pastoral ministry, Reverend Flores, along with his wife Maria E. Flores and two of their daughters, felt the Holy Spirit’s confirmation to begin pastoring. They moved to Charlotte, NC, where they started their ministry with just five members in a hotel room. Through God’s guidance, their ministry has grown and continues to thrive.
Reverend Jose N. Flores, his wife Maria E. Flores, and their six children—Wendy, Damaris, Kelyn, Ana, David, and Josue—are all actively involved in the ministry at Iglesia Faro de Luz.
